Back to School: Reflections on Being an Online Business Management Student After Almost 3 Decades

I can't help but feel a mixture of excitement and apprehension as I sit in front of my computer for the first time, logging into my virtual classroom. It's been nearly three decades since I was a student, and the prospect of embarking on a new academic journey in an online format is both exciting and daunting.

On the one hand, I'm eager to broaden my business management knowledge and skills. I'm excited about the flexibility that online learning provides, as it allows me to balance my studies with the demands of a full-time job and family obligations. I'm also looking forward to the chance to interact with classmates from all over the world and learn from their experiences.

At the same time, I'm well aware of the difficulties that lie ahead. The prospect of effectively managing my time, keeping up with course material, and participating in online discussions and group projects can be intimidating, especially after so many years away from a formal academic setting.

Despite the difficulties, I am confident that I can succeed as an online student. I believe that the skills I've developed as a working professional over the years, such as time management, self-discipline, and adaptability, will serve me well in this new setting.

Furthermore, I see the online format as a means of learning new technologies and developing new digital competencies, both of which are becoming increasingly important in today's globalized and rapidly changing business world.

As I begin this new chapter in my academic career, I am filled with anticipation and curiosity about what lies ahead.
